Dreams are my reality

🕵 Hi there, my name is Eunkyoung Choi (Kyoung).
I come from Busan, S. Korea, a beautiful ocean city known for its dynamic blend of urban and natural beauty (see the photos below).

In 2018, I decided to move to the US. This move was fueled by more than curiostiy; it was a commitment to deeply understand science beyond headlines, to strengthen my expertise, and to use that knowledge to empower communities and contribute meaningfully to our planet 🌎.

Recently, I completed my PhD, an especially meaningful milestone as a first-generation college graduate in my family. The journey has taken me far from my hometown, but it has also shaped my purpose in research: to generate knowledge that informs and support society. Inspired by the mentorship and guidance I received throughout my PhD training, I am now beginning a new chapter in Boston.
I continue to deepen my scientific understanding while exploring how my work can contribute to a more resilient and equitable future.

Please feel free to connect with me if you have any questions about science, navigating academia, being an international scholar, or women in STEM.
